LISTEN UP HEADLAND!! Beginning with your September 2010 water bill and each month thereafter, you will have an opportunity to donate $1.00 (or more if you wish) to C.H.A.R.M. (City of Headland Animal Rescue Mission). This is voluntary, no money has been added to your bill.

If you turn your bill over you will see a checkbox [ ], simply check the box, add $1.00 to your bill total and pay your utility bill to the City of Headland as usual. You will need to do this each month that you wish to donate. Not everyone can attend meetings or help in other ways, but for less than a bottle of soda or a pack of gum, you can contribute to save or improve the quality of life of the animals at the Headland Animal Shelter. In order to try to find homes for the dogs that are unwanted and homeless, we have to have each dog vetted to make sure they are healthy and suitable for adoption.

In order to make sure we are not perpetuating the cycle of unwanted animals, we have elected to spay or neuter each dog that is deemed to be suitable for adoption. C.H.A.R.M. invests an average cost of $80.00 per dog in medical expense to prepare them for adoption. So far, this has been successful but we have to depend on donations to make this possible. Every dime that has been donated to C.H.A.R.M., so far has been spent for medical expenses. All of the shelter improvements have been donated from outside sources and have not been paid for out of C.H.A.R.M., funds.

We would appreciate your participation in this program to help save the lives of the dogs at the Headland Animal Shelter.
